Haru Japanese

Professional Centre, Karen Rd, Karen, Nairobi

Restaurant Information

Haru Sushi and Shabu restaurant is located in the Karen Professional Centre, a new building roughly between Rhino House and Karen Connection. It has a high quality food and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant has a modern but unpretentious design with a long bar on the left side and a main dining area upstairs. Haru has about 10 tables and the size just right – it has an intimate feel that makes it a great place to go with friends for dinner or lunch. The staff is friendly and atmosphere very relaxing. Haru’s sushi is excellent, specially the unagi (eel) sushi and the sashimi is also excellent and very fresh.

A one of kind experience of fresh, delicious sushi. The best japanese restaurant in Nairobi. Lovely atmosphere, welcoming staff, fantastic food.

The freshest sushi always. Great unagi and salmon sashimi. Decent house wines. Great service every single time. Japanese food is generally priced on the higher side, but worth it. Haru's only fault is that it has nothing going ambience-wise.

Our family has been going to Haru for lunch for years, as we love the food and it is near home. Staff is efficient but aloof and the owner/chef has not welcomed us ever. Ambiance is pretty awful and the music always the same. Food is excellent, but prices are starting to go through the roof. A small portion of grilled squid as a starter at ksh 650/-, ridiculous! Even if the four of us have just one starter, one drink and a bento box each the bill comes close to ten thousand shillings. We don't come as often as we used to ...

One of the most underrated Sushi restaurants in Nairobi! service and food quality was fantastic! Wait staff (Dennis) was so efficient! Always going back for more. I love you Haru! <3

My 7 year old daughter and i are sushi die hards and have sampled many sushi joints locally and abroad. Haru Sushi definitely is a top restaurant that serves fresh fish and the flavours of sushi and sashimi are above par. I highly recommend the cream cheese sushi and butterfly sushi.

Best sushi I have had to date, great quantities and quality. Service is great, ambiance is just ok, nothing too amazing but the food definitely makes up for it. Good location too.

Am not the biggest fan of japanese cuisine but i loved the food here. The accompanying sauces as so good, I wasnt sure we were eating raw food. The staff is great as well.

Haru is a place my Japanese family and I go to regularly. The quality of the food never disappoints, and my wife often compliments the choice of background music, as "natsukashi".. Sushi and sashimi are well prepared and presented, and the noodles are amongst the best we have had in Kenya.
