Viva Lounge Sports Bar & RestaurantKandara Rd, Kileleshwa, Nairobi
this is a chilled place for ya'll that are looking for a place to hang out with friend and just have a good time . ts really spacious and the waiters are friendly. What stood out for me was the food , especially the barbecue (Nyama Choma). its was delicious .... awesome ... legit
try the dry fry mbuzi and sautee potatoes they are delish ,service was good ,nice place to chill out with friends and the prices are ok .
The food is good but the service is a tad slow. The waiters set the table in bits, you have to constantly call them over and remind them for things like salt, napkins etc which is such a drag . The billing also needs work, waiters add random items that you didn't order and when you ask about it ,they say its the same thing you had but under a different name (??how now ?) . All in all , its not such a bad restaurant .
Viva lounge has deteriorated in service significantly in the past year. I doubt it will continue as a restaurant at the rate it's going. I've had a waiter try to scam us by billing us without a receipt for imaginary food (he had also done that to a table beside us), I've seen a coachroach on the table, food orders are routinely forgotten and you have to order again, but the worst was my birthday dinner experience. I chose to go there for a birthday dinner with someone who had never been there. An hour after ordering we were told the food would take another 20 minutes. Now, I'd chosen those items because I knew they'd be quick to make. I couldn't understand why at an empty restaurant food would take 80 minutes. The waitress admitted the kitchen had forgotten the order. Although the chef came to try and apologize, my experience was ruined and I left the restaurant. My guest and I had one drink each which we didn't think we had to pay for since our DINNER never arrived. We were chased down the parking lot by security and the supervisor who said that drinks were another department. So after an hour and a half of starvation, refusing to give us the manager's number, we still had to pay for drinks?!?! This used to be my favourite local but after these experiences, it won't just be mine whose business they'll lose.
