I like the food. I had great dishes there. Some of the "rolls" should not have cream cheese in them, but taste is different I assume. I just don't understand why there are soooo many tables outside. It always feels a little bit to cramped for me. Would prefer a bit more space/privacy, to not have to listen to my neighbors conversation. Also I agree that it is on the more expensive side.
The Phoenician is one of the places that all sushi lovers should make a point of visiting. From the time i first entered, what caught my eye was the lovely ambience of the place. It seems to me that it is a home-style restaurant. The lighting was warm and perfect for a night dinner. The complimentary salad was very fresh with amazing flavor. The soup we were offered afterwards, was warm and hearty. We ordered one of the sushi platters, and we were not disappointed at all. Presentation of the food was rather unique, and the food itself was fresh and scrumptious. Later we had a slice of cheese cake and a glass of wine. This was definitely a very worthwhile visit.
I love eating at Phoenician all the time because I love their food. Especially their vegetarian Sushi and their complementary salad. I would however like to complain about the fact that my sister and I have complained numerous times about the restaurant not being wheelchair friendly, and we have been told by the manager that they will make a ramp since 2015, yet nothing seems to have changed.
The lack of service is something that really brings this place down. We had a waiter who was very arrogant and rude from the get go. I asked him for a drink 4 times after which we just decided to ask for the bill. The food is good, but the waiters are stroppy and slow. Overall a very average experience.
