I'll start with the bad. Been a customer since they opened but I got sick once after chowing down some sushi rolls. Safe to say I was lucky my body rejected it quickly. I really like their starter salad, sushi selection, and teriyaki dishes. Surprisingly their burger is simple but tasty. They serve Lebanese food but its always a little dry and lacklustre. They need to stop putting balaclava on the menu because they never have it.
What happened? This restaurant was always pricey, but never disappointed, but lunch on a Friday was horrid. While the restaurant was long open, staff were still mopping the floor, leaving a stench of detergents in the air. Chair backs are shiny and grimy, renew that dirty upholstery! Three starters and a lunch box took 45 minutes. Kitchen staff were joking around loudly, too busy to cook food obviously. The ridiculously overpriced bento box was awful, all cooked items greasy and unappetizing, the few pieces of sushi looking like leftovers form the day before. Our waiter was superb, attentive and observing, but the food was abysmal, no wonder there were just 5 [!] patrons during the whole lunch service. Pull up your socks, way, way up high - this place is doomed otherwise.
I loooooooooved the Phoenician in Junction Mall. I loved the sushi portions as they were extremely generous with the fish. Not to say it was happy hour so we got an extra glass of wine for every two we bought. And half a roll for every roll we bought, we totally got more than we expected. The service and ambiance was just excellent. I have nothing to say but LOVE LOVE LOVE
