Thai Chi (Sarova Stanley)The Sarova Stanley, Kimathi St, CBD, Nairobi
Great place. My most recent dinner there was a party of 14. I made the reservation for my party and the restaurant staff were so courteous. They personally coordinated with me and, the Chef to ensure all our dining considerations were taken into account. The food did not disappoint, it offered a truly authentic Thai dishes. Arguably the best Thai Cuisine in E.Africa. On a side note I also loved the in-house band, they created a perfect ambience. Would I go back soon? hell yea!
The best Thai food in Nairobi, and arguably, in East Africa. The service is courteous, you can tell that staff have been trained to the highest standard. Don't miss their dawas, to die for. While flawless, the food portions are a little on the small side (especially given the hefty price tag).
I was repeatedly informed that I needed a reservation to dine there, even on the day as I made my way to the restaurant, I was asked about my reservation... only to get to the restaurant and there was just 2 of my party and no one else for a greater part of the evening. The food is awesome, but would I go back there? Not soon.
Meals are consistently glorious. Service top notch. Always a pleasant experience.
Perhaps we went on the wrong day, because the food was not something one would expect from a Thai chef - surprisingly inauthentic with ingredients that bafflingly did not belong in a Thai dish. The service was also quite poor. A group arrived after us, ordered after us, but got their food almost immediately, while we had to wait nearly an hour to get just a handful of plates.
