Nice new venue in Marsabit Plaza. While the interior is nice and they have comfortable seating, the food leaves a lot to be desired. Like many Nairobi restaurants, Mugz and Brewz is more interested in just filling your stomach with food rather than giving you a memorable dining experience. I ordered a grilled, boneless chicken that was overcooked and tasteless. The mashed potatoes were the consistency of ugali and the creamy spinach was not creamy at all. There are no salt and pepper shaker on the table, so they bring small bowls of each which you then dispense yourself. Beer selection is very limited, which was disappointing because the name of the restaurant would leave you to believe that it would have a very wide selection of beers. Plus, they didn't even serve the beer in a Mug!!! The little things matter, and this new restaurant hasn't figured out the little things yet.
This place is such a hidden gem. Their decor is on point. That classy homey feel is the vibe I got. Their food is truly value for money; tastes and portion wise. I had the chicken fajita. A delicious and large meal at a very reasonable price. What surprised me the most was their cocktails. Nothing watered down here. Their mojito was good. This place is such a pleasant surprise. Must go again
