We went in recently during the Burger festival for dinner on a Wednesday. The service needs to be improved. We had an inside table near the bar. The wait staff gathered there, near the cashier, to chat in loud tones which disturbed us. There was NO manager or supervisor who spoke to clients to see if all was ok. They did NOT tell us the kitchen was closing so after mains we wanted dessert but were let down. The food portions were small. The staff seemed in a hurry to close and go home so they were rushing us. We left hungry. Management needs to pull up their socks and be hands on & on top of things.
This one is a tough one. Great location. The entire menu has something to offer for all palettes. From sandwiches, to calamari rings...Some of the best salmon, and some of the best stuffed chicken, The burgers you can never finish, and the pasta is just so good. My favourite meal is their put in a pot...the list goes on and on. When it comes to food, Monikos never disappoints. The coffee isn't great but what does that have to do with anything really. Good wine & cocktail selection.
Service was a bit wanting as we waited a while before being served. I had the burger while my friend had the red Thai beef curry. I enjoyed my meal but the curry wasn't anything special. I would go back back though. It has a chilled vibe to it and I need to taste the pork ribs that were unfortunately sold out.
I dined here with some colleagues and we had a Swedish themed dinner experience that was quite enjoyable. The starter was heated wine with some nuts….it had never occurred to me that one could heat wine and that it could have such an enjoyable taste. The food consisted of a number of sea foods and though am not much of sea food enthusiast I still indulged in a little bit of everything. Our waiter Carol did a commendable job and so did the guy running the place whose long beard made me think he must be a true Viking descendant. I also enjoyed the Swedish habit of singing before taking drinks. All in all I had a good time, the food was good, the service was commendable and I would definitely come back and recommend others to visit.
Moniko's; never again. S l o w and sloppy service, too many tables, too close together. Order a salad and you get 90% lettuce leaves, with a few pieces of avocado, salmon or whatever thrown in. The bread served with our salads was old, hard and bone dry. We complained to the owner, but he said it must have been toasted by accident ... This place is a farce.
I've been to Monikos mainly in the daytime and have enjoyed it every time I go, though in the middle of a shopping centre, it doesn't feel like it. The space is calm and I can get into my work with the occasional top up on coffee and or eat a meal. I really enjoy their pasta and cause I'm usually rushing through stuff, I avoid ordering burgers, though I hear they have some great options. I'll be back to try those at a more relaxed time.
