Went to try out their new lunch menu options and loved every bite. They were really busy since it was a Saturday afternoon, food was on point, service was a tad slow but the food made up for it. I fully recommend the freakshakes, if you haven't already indulged in these. All in all a wonderful experience.
One of my favorite places in Nairobi. I've been to Zen quite a few times plus arranged 2 private parties here and I would definitely recommend them. If you need to host a private party, they have the most beautiful room! if you're looking for a quiet lunch venue, Jade is definitely a good pick. Very relaxing atmosphere and the desserts are so yummy!
Beautiful place. The desserts are heavenly. The food is just okay
Went for coffee with a few friends. I was early so I just rolled up (I use an electronic wheelchair) to the host's stand. There was no one there, so I waited for five minutes waiting for someone to escort me to a table, as usual. However, no one came to help me so to pass the time, I went to the bakery to see what I'd like to order later. Then, as no one was still ready to seat me at a table, I asked a waiter if he could seat me somewhere. He told me to go the Bamboo side, as there were smaller tables there. I headed there, and yet no one was there to seat me. I just waited by a table for ten minutes and no one even came to assist in moving a chair for me so that I could sit there till I had to ask. Again, I waited for fifteen minutes for a menu, till I had to ask. My friends shortly arrived and no one served them menus till we asked. Even the drinks took over 20 minutes to be served, despite the restaurant being relatively empty. I ordered dessert to take away and they brought the dessert and no bill, yet I had already paid separately for the drinks. Overall, I was just disappointed. However, the drinks (and desserts) were great!
I called zen on the last day of the festival in the afternoon hoping to do a pick up order. I was disappointed that they are not doing takeaway pizza or pick up for the festival. The manager actually said that even if we eat there we cant do takeaway. They could have written that on their flier when they wrote the only available 11-6pm. That to me is a load of bollocks. Charge me for boxes if you need to justify participating in the event. I guess we shall be doing Meditterano or Pomodoro instead!!
