Awesome.. was there for a dinner date, enjoyed the food, service & ambiance was amazing!! definitely going back & the food was well priced ;)
Dined here last Saturday. Great ambience, Perfect set-up for a romantic candle light dinner. We opted to sit in the back garden.Great service provided by Ms. Esna & Mr. Peter. A jiko was also arranged to beat the cold. We skipped starters and headed straight for mains. Set the mood with an ice cold refreshing Tusker lager and complimentary home made bread. For mains we ordered 1 Veg Lasagne & 1 Chicken Mushroom. Average waiting time is approx. 20-30 mins for exceptionally freshly prepared meals. Great presentation of the meals & rest is Bon Appetite! Good value for money. Really had a fantastic time at Asmara. Suggesting those who haven't been here, to try it you'll love it.
It's a nice and quiet place. Went there a bunch of guys to celebrate a birthday. The ambience is great though their seats are starting to wear out and chip. The service was okay, not much to complain though they need more attention and should stop writing the bill with pen. The food was great. Their pizza is fantastic. As for the Eritrean cuisine, one needs an acquired taste.
Great place, awesome food and the ambience is amazing. Great service too :)
I ordered a pizza from these guys during the early days on Nairobi Pizza Festival and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. Eritrea is known for it's Italian influence from times of colonization and Asmara is an Eritrean restaurant so it shouldn't be a surprise that Italian-style pizza is offered on their menu. I tried the fungi y parma pizza (mushroom and ham) and I've gotta say, it was pretty good! It's a simple red sauce, thin crust, where the shining ingredients are the fresh toppings. It's not going to appeal to someone craving a Domino's pizza, but if you're looking for a lighter version of a pizza, it's good.
When I went to order the pizza, I got takeaway and the waitstaff was courteous and helpful. The pizza probably came out in 20 to 30 minutes. Asmara has both indoor and outdoor seating and we were offered to sit on a table outside as we waited for our pizza.
