Celebrated a friend's birthday at shocking cost of 300,000khs( $3000)for 28 guests. The food was delicious and of great standard. Although having said this the chef/owner was obnoxious and rude to a few of the guests. The pricing on the alcohol astronomical at 200 to 300% mark up and the quality not the highest standard of alcohol for the price demanded. A single tôt of Bombay Sapphire 650khs($6.50) Over reaching expectations of the owner given the very basic surroundings and simplistic decor. The staff were very inefficient and somewhat overwhelmed by handling a table of 28 grown ups. Each of us paid $110 which given the whole tone and setting was not worth it. Steak eaters complained of over cooked meat but the fusion of spices was excellent throughout. All in all a mixed day full of interesting suprises. The mbabati roofing was uncomfortable in the midday sun. Avoid alcohol at all costs and be prepared to spend a minimum of 5000khs( $50pp) for the basic meal (this is the cheapest starter and cheapest main dish...somewhat exorbitant for an almost shack like surrounding.Ambience is limited.
An ancient, classy, dwelling. So serene! And homely experienced owner --managers. Keep it this way
