Porini Boko BokoMtwapa, Past Umoja Rubber factory, Mombasa
This is where a short road trip meets African delicacy (but can make you hungry again as you travel back) Food is great but if your in a hurry or would wish not to wait for an hour or more as they prepare the food, then please call in advance but then again #SisemiKi2
the food was amazing...authentic and served the traditional way...enjoyed the experience! definitely be coming back...
Boko Boko is far from my residence in Mombasa but it's worth the drive. The food is amazing. The food is amazing. Yes I know I repeated it for emphasis. I ordered the Fish soup in coconut milk for starters with garlic naan, it was delicious -- I'm salivating as I type this because I'm reminiscing it. I also had the Boko Boko Chicken served with Ugali it was awesome. The stew was pure African food. For dessert I had the banana with coconut milk and star fruit. The food is cheap my goodness it's a bargain. Five stars for value. Service was a tad bit slow it took nearly an hour and a half to get the food so the service could definitely be improved. The restaurant is located right in the middle of a bush, it's an amazing place. I also enjoyed that the food was served in clay pots with a woman washing your hands carrying the clay pot over hear head. Way to go to embrace the African culture. Would recommend it every time.
a long drive from town and i had to wait for a long time for the food to be prepared. However, the food was delicious. the serving style is unique and interesting .experienced the traditional coastal atmosphere. hospitality was also good. i would be visiting you frequently if you were a bit closer to town.
